Right now I am pumping the greens and Pre-workout and loving them both… Heres a secret “I’m on them right now as I do my podcast”.
I really want to give you a candy bar, I really want to give you a new house, I really want to give you a brand new 2021 Corvette… there is only one problem… and it is the same problem many of us have in life. I just don’t have it to give.
Acts 3
3 Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. 2 As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money.
4 Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. 6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”
There are 5 parts to this healing story…
1 - You can only give what you have.
2 - Prayer in the name of Jesus… your faith and expectation is in him. When someone I pray for does not get healed I leave it in Gods hands… but I also go back to point 1 - did I have it to give.
3- Action or testing
4 - Healing
5 - Opportunity to share the gospel.
Many people want the power of healing to look cool, or to prove their spirituality or even do a check engine light on their salvation. All supernatural acts of the spirit should be seen as an opportunity to share the gospel. You don’t have to preach a sermon like Peter did, but you should share the love of Christ!

Touch is the first of the senses to develop in the human infant, and it remains perhaps the most emotionally central throughout our lives.
Stunts: physical growth, emotional growth, social growth, healthy immunity,
Writing in 1928, John B. Watson, one of the originators of the behaviorist school of psychology, urged parents to maintain a physical boundary between themselves and their children: “Never hug and kiss them, never let them sit on your lap. If you must, kiss them once on the forehead when they say goodnight. Shake hands with them in the morning. Give them a pat on the head if they have made an extraordinarily good job on a difficult task.” Watson acknowledged that children must be bathed, clothed, and cared for, but he believed that excessive touching—that is, caressing—would create “mawkish” adults. An untouched child, he argued, “enters manhood so bulwarked with stable work and emotional habits that no adversity can quite overwhelm him.” Now we know that, to attain that result, he should have suggested the opposite: touch, as frequent and as caring as possible.
Did you know that just by rubbing your childs head and encouraging them verbally at the same time can cause an immediate spurt of brain growth, dendrites connecting, neurons connecting.
It lowers stress, anxiety and depression.
Luke 8:46 someone has touched me for power has gone out from me.
There is energy in me… good bad or static
Luke 6:19 The crowd sought to touch him for power would come out of him.
Do you realize that over 1/2 of the miracles that Jesus performed he touched them.
We don’t like to talk about touch and even more so we don’t like to touch in todays society because we are to afraid of being thought of as weird, creepy, we don’t want to get accused or sued for inappropriate touch etc…
Wow, satan has us just where he wants us. Here we see in total demonstration by Christ the power of touch and in todays world satan has coerced us and manipulated us to give up this part of our power.
Now I believe that we can pass on power and love and even Gods healing without people knowing by simply touching them. I believe we see it in scripture… maybe I take a stab at this in a more detailed podcast - but for now. Might I encourage you to start to understand the power you have in your own hand and through your own hands. Your touch not only can impact others physically, emotionally, mentally, socially… but also spiritually. I believe those who have daily intimate times with Jesus have an obligation to go out and appropriately touch others. Yes I touch men, woman, girls and boys appropriately. People, kids and even teens are starving for it.
This past week I was at a camp. I ended up sitting with some grade school girls… to cut to the chase one ended up asking me for a hug… well in seconds they all wanted hugs and from that point forward the rest of the week when they say me they wanted hugs. It did not go unnoticed by me nor did the power I was hoping to pass on to them. I wanted them to experience Jesus in each encounter.
Yes we need to have caution… but I would rather risk than miss an opportunity.
Angie and her Dad…
Well I guess until you step up and do your job, its’s up to me!

Pauls thorn in the flesh…
2 Cor. 12 the Apostle Paul speaks of his thorn in the flesh… for years this has been a verse where people state an opinion of “See God doesn’t heal everyone, not even the apostle Paul was healed”.
People think this is a sickness…
He writes in big bold letters and people say see…!!!
He in one of his letters says “I know you would pluck out your own eyes for me” and again People say see…!!!
He had ophthalmia - nonsense.
First off, do you ever write in your own handwriting or in text with capitol letters? Did anyone ever text you in caps and you thought… OMG they have an eye disease.
Has anyone ever said to you “I would give my arm to do such and such”… Do you think he must be thinking of those who who are amputees?
These statements have always been common in vernacular to emphasize emotions. Don’t take them for anything more than what they mean on paper. Also God says to Paul - after he asked 3 times to have it removed - that God answered him “my grace is sufficient for you”.
That to me means his request was taken care of by God. His request was answered. I am not sure, but I do know the word sufficient means “to be more strength than needed, to be possessed of unfailing strength”.
So what’s the point? All through scripture when we hear the term a thorn in the flesh it refers to people who get on our nerves. Study the life of Paul and you know it was the Pharisees and judaizers who made life a living hell for him. These people were against him from the beginning of his ministry to the end. But God gave him sufficient strength to overcome these people.
My goal here is to help you understand that in life right now while I speak there are about 15 different people groups that seemingly are making America a living hell. They are against everything, everybody and every cause that does not line up perfectly with their cause.
Gods grace has got this!
I think the dark world we live in and the spiritual forces would love for us to see this verse simply as a physical malady that Paul is going through - but the truth is, its about people. And we need Gods grace more than ever regarding people. People are not the problem, the forces of evil behind it are. And Gods grace is the answer… it is by Gods grace we are saved… it is by Gods stripes we are healed. This is not speaking of healing, it is speaking of seeing those lost people groups saved.

Why do bad things happen to good people…
If you have read the book of Job you probably have a gist of what its about… maybe. Job was a good dude, he loved God and served him faithfully. Then out of seemingly nowhere he gets slammed, his finances are gone, his family is gone, his health is gone and finally his wife says curse God and die and then she is gone.
How many bad things do you have going in your life? probably not as many as Job…
And what does Job do? he blames God… not so much blames him in an accusative tone, but rather a tone of “oh well if this is what God chooses, then so be it”.
HOLD THE PHONE… The book of Job is written 155 years before Moses. Job had no notion or understanding of satan, demons, spiritual warfare etc… so when we read Job 2:7 that says satan left Gods presence and struck job with disease and pain from head to foot. - Its understandable that Job blames God.
What is your excuse? Look you know the verse that satan comes to steal, kill and destroy… so why are you blaming God?
Remember Jesus comes to give life and life abundantly. Bad things happen to everyone - not just sinners, not just saints.
Matthew 5:45 so that you may [show yourselves to] be the children of your Father who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on those who are evil and on those who are good, and makes the rain fall on the righteous [those who are morally upright] and the unrighteous [the unrepentant, those who oppose Him].
And bad things happen because we are stupid people. We do dumb things and make unwise choices and quick decisions. Sometimes we just simply make sinful choices due to our lusts, greed, impatience and pride.
What am I getting at?
simply this: whatever is good, it is from God. Whatever is bad it is from satan or yourself. So if you deal with satan and your bad choices… everything is good.
…ok, I can’t just cut satan out of the picture, but I can keep him from having his way. What is the saying, Martin Luther said, “You cannot keep birds from flying over your head but you can keep them from building a nest in your hair.” You can't keep the Devil from suggesting thoughts, but you can choose not to dwell or act on them.
Do you have weaknesses that satan can attack? Then deal with them, and at all times give thanks to God for all the good things in life. It is a great way to keep focus and build worship into your life… where you worship- God dwells!

The cool people are busy, hustling, grinding and slaving away… they are multi tasking while they hustle and grinding while they super set…
Its cool to be busy…
Me.. meh, I don’t want to be busy, I want to be productive.
Lets look at what Jesus did.
He taught
He ate
He hung with people
He prayed
He traveled
He ministered
Seems like an interesting job description… but yet he was effective. We don’t see Jesus really messing around and running after things that had no real value.
Now before I get into this - I am not saying if you play summer baseball or like to hunt or fish it is a waste of time. Its not how much time you use for other things but it is what fills that time… you might say what is the difference?
Well lets look back at Jesus. He did only a few things but he did them well. And in all that he did he was kingdom centered first. He goes to get water- he tells a woman about the Kingdom, he goes to eat with the disciples - he straightens out the Pharisees, He is on his way to Jerusalem and he prunes a fig tree… ok, he curses it but he is teaching in the middle of it, He goes sailing and he builds the faith of the disciples in and through a storm.
He was focused on the kingdom no matter what he was doing.
I recently read a blog by Ed Latimore… he tears into todays hipster generation about how they are all busy… But he calls it out as foolishness because they are not productive. He says you know the difference… but you do it so long you even fool yourself. You fall into the trap of thinking “wow, I am busy, I must be important and making a difference”.
So are you busy with kingdom work or are you productive with Kingdom work. Before you answer just ask yourself this one question…
Are lives being changed? Are people coming to know Christ in a deeper way?
What am I saying??? Are you getting results!
Now step 2
here is a clue as to how to be more productive in Kingdom work:
Use your spiritual gifts daily. (what are they? take a test to find out)
Develop your gifts daily/ weekly.
Only do things that use your gifting’s.
Cut out useless work and busyness unless it uses your gifts or talents for the kingdom.
Finally, are your results starting to gain supernatural exponential growth?
See when you start to use your gifting for the kingdom and really truly focus… the growth of your results goes from just a few to thousands.
When I started to learn to play guitar I loved it. I learned fast. I immediately started to teach other kids in order to multiply my worship team…
God saw my heart, took my passion, my gifting and hooked me up with Hal Leonard corporation to write, travel and teach… my results were supernatural… along with the money I made.
so lets recap
Busy vs. productive
Harder vs. Smarter
Frantic vs. focused
Naturally vs. supernaturally
Extra ordinary vs. Extraordinary
Perfectionism vs. Productivism
Grind vs. growth
Hustle vs. Fertile
As I get older I have learned to cut back, focus in, rest smarter and expect God to do the rest. It is amazing the results you get when you quit being busy!

Believe it or not people used to tell me my Father was fake… he was a pastor so this always came as a surprise to me… and of course he was my Dad. but they would say, no one is always that happy, joyful and confident… Now i saw my Dad 24/7 and I could attest that yes in fact he was all that and more… but what seemed to bewilder me is that they were mad that he was always happy…
Galatians 2
4 Even that question came up only because of some so-called believers there—false ones, really—who were secretly brought in. They sneaked in to spy on us and take away the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. They wanted to enslave us and force us to follow their Jewish regulations. 5 But we refused to give in to them for a single moment. We wanted to preserve the truth of the gospel message for you.
The Truth = authenticity
Religious people hate authenticity - they can’t be real with themselves and they hate the fact that you believe and trust fully on the gospel message.
What is that message? God saved you through Christ death on the cross. You can’t earn it, Your sins are forgiven past and present and future…
You simply walk in it and receive it… even when you blow it again and again… you don’t strive to work harder you simply accept the free gift of forgiveness and push forward.
V. 5 Preserve the truth? How many people want to add their own rules to the gospel?
You accept Christ… but then you have to
dress a certain way
Act a certain way
live a certain way
stay away from certain people
You have to try try try try
Hate comes from weakness, envy and fear.
Look it takes faith and courage to live your life according to scripture and not mix in any of your works or feelings into it. People will envy you for your courage to live the truths of scripture. It takes vulnerability, faith and risk… most people will never take that path.
And when they lack the courage they feel inadequate and in turn need to make excuses for their lack of courage. Hate is sometimes easier than excuses.
Remember first they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they hate you and in time they secretly want to be like you.
Your presence in your in your walk with Christ and the true identity he has given you is like an alarm clock to many around you… its irritating, it reminds them they are not walking in the freedom that Christ has afforded them.
V. 5 5 But we refused to give in to them for a single moment.
Don’t give in
Keep accepting gods grace, his forgiveness, his mercy his kindness his love and his call on who you are supposed to be.

2 Corinthians 3:16 But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Right now I am pumping the greens and Pre-workout and loving them both… Heres a secret “I’m on them right now as I do my podcast”.
Number one value in Leadership: Relationships
you cannot have bad relationships and be a good leader. Now I am not saying you are not tough, honest, push hard… but its done in a way that your team knows you love them.
I had a girl in my youth group. Troubled home… she was 14 going on 40. She was smart as a whip, disciplined, street smart and could be a total disturbance. She was a leader on our youth team… she could lead the whole Frosh girl class on a tantrum… she could cause the group to lose focus… she had that much power. I was so mad and pulled her into my office after youth one night… I was ready to just rip into her and tell her she can no longer be a leader… and then it hit me. All this girl has ever had in her life is being ripped on and ripped off and ripped under. I realized it had to be loved. So I spent 15 minutes praising her. Talking about her gifts, her responsibility and even ended it by saying “If I had 2 more of you we could run a small country”. And then at the end I said “this is why it is so valuable to me that you use your gifts and influence to help push the other girls to Christ and not use it to distract them”. That was it. Then I told her again how much I loved her and appreciated her in leadership. Over night she changed. She got it and I even bet she knew what I was doing… but all the more she appreciated it.
Number one Rule in leadership: Assume more responsibility than required. It is not enough to “own it”. Do you lead that particular area like you are getting ready to show it to the world… or to Jesus. Do you want someone to take care of your ministry, your job, your task, your vision… the way you take care of your car? (not if it’s me… my car is a mess)
The point is that to truly lead it is not enough to do just the bare minimum or just the job description. Leadership sees beyond that. I asked a girl once to type up some cards and put them into a file box so that I could look up certain topics… this was the day before computers. I came into my office a little later and my books were all rearranged and I was not happy. I did not have them in any particular order but I at least kind of remembered where they were. I asked her why she did that - and I wasn’t real happy. She said while typing up the cards it occurred to her it would be easier for me to find the books if they were alphabetized by title. And you know what… she was right… and she did a great job. she went above and beyond! Great leadership always goes above and beyond.
Number one Goal in leadership: work harder on yourself than your job or position or skill.
You are you… you are the leader that you bring to the table…so if you want to be a better leader you must first work on you… not your skill or talent or position. Its like being a great artist, but you lack the personal leadership skills to buy enough supplies, get up early to paint, list your stuff on line, get to exhibits on time… You are a great artist… you don’t have to focus working on that… you do need to focus on working on yourself as a leader.

Leader Lesson 1.0
Sometimes it’s not about wether you are or are not a leader, but more importantly can you spot a leader.
You may not have what it takes, but can you spot someone who is and in turn work for you and fill in your weakness - Well that is a far better skill set in the long run. why? Because even if you are a great leader- there is only one of you. So if you can spot leaders its a huge foundation to the success of your life, spiritual life and all opportunities ahead of you.
Here are 3 things to look for when trying to identify a potential leader.
First, do they lead themselves? This can in fact be misleading- what do I mean?
I look super disciplined in that I go to the gym every day, My body shows the fruits of that, but its
not discipline… its love. I am not not any more disciplined going to the gym every day than asking
a fat kid to eat cake every day. So you need to dig deeper into a person to see how they may actually be a leader.
Number 2
Can they get immersed in a project. Maybe you have heard of the book flow. It is an amazing book talking about how when we do things we love we can fall into a state of flow… time gets lost and we are completely absorbed.
As a high school and college student did they get lost in hobbies, interests, sports and time flew by?
Ask potential leaders hard questions to see if you can identify flow in their lives.
Number 3
Do they make a practice of doing hard things… for some of us its making our bed every day. Are there people in their life they
don’t particularly like but still make a habit of connecting with? Have they started a retirement plan and if so how much of a monthly
sacrifice do they make towards their investments.
Do they have a regular exercise program. Ask them what hard things have you taken on lately and how did you overcome the adversity in learning and conquering these things.
Number 4
Here is a secret I have learned in spotting leaders - ready for this?
They have predictable schedules. Oh sure they may travel due to business or may have to work weekends some times, but all
in all their days mirror each other day perfectly. Here is what I mean. My days are almost so predictable you would think I don’t
get a lot done, but it is actually just the opposite. I get up at the same time every day, I write, record and edit at the same time every day, I read and pray every day at the same time, I eat, snack and read at the same time every day. I work out at the same time every day.
It is the discipline of my schedule that allows me to lead myself and be most productive. Multi tasking is a lie… it actually robs you of focus and productivity. The more you see a potential leader who has a predictable routine the more likely they are productive.
They know their roles daily, weekly, monthly and even yearly.
