By honoring another you are saying you see great value in them.
Why is it hard to honor people…? Good question. I think it is because we sometimes fear we are not as important as others… and we deserve recognition. It is not so much that they are not important… as much as we don’t feel appreciated by others, by our family, church, work or life. So it is a hard pill to swallow for many when it comes to honor others.
How does honoring others help us? Well to be blunt, it helps us understand the pecking order of eternity. God is number one, those he created are number 2 and we are honoring God by honoring those he has created….
Let me put it this way…. I have always said the best way to love me is love my kids. I have had people I know, who love me, serve me, sacrifice for me… are my best of friends… and they do nothing for… but at the same time they do something for my kids - and yep… they did a lot for me by doing that. Matthew 25:40 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
1. Honor your parents.
Honor your father and mother, that your days may be long in the land that Lord your God is giving you. (Exodus 20:12, see also Ephesians 6:2-3)
Let me help many of you understand how you can honor your parents… because I know many of you did not have good parents, in fact many of you would call them lousy, horrible parents…. You may even now be thinking… Im not honoring them. You have no idea what terrible people they are… ok, I can understand how you might feel that way and you are justifiably right… But here is one of the nuances of the word honor.
It is simply acknowledging the heaviness of the position one is to fill. Meaning… now as a parent I can understand how hard it is. Even if my parents were the worst… I can look at them and say with confidence “I know parenting is tough, and I am sure it was not easy all the time parenting me”. This simple way of honoring them is not agreeing to the fact that they were great people or even tried… but it does honor them in the position they had.
Lets dumb it down… if a certain president was in power that you did not like or agree with… you might even say he is bad for our country… if you were to walk into the White House oval office… it would be honorable to shake his hand and greet him as Mr. President. In doing so you are not honoring his actions but rather his title.
2. Honor those who are older.
You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an older man, and you shall fear your God. I am the Lord. (Leviticus 19:32)
Talk about an awkward time to live in. We love and honor youth. We are fascinated by being young, staying young. We worship the hip, cool and beautiful. ON TOP OF THAT our society mocks the old. We find it easy to laugh at the bent over, the technology challenged, the balding… they smell, they dress weird, they don’t understand the REAL WORLD.
Why honor the old.
Two reasons - first, you have no idea what they have gone through. I will say it again, you have no idea what they have gone through… YOU HAVE. NO. IDEA. WHAT. THEY HAVE GONE. THROUGH.
You may be making fun of a man stuck in a cell for 22 years for a crime he did not commit. A woman who took care of a husband who was in invalid after a stroke for 30 years…
Second reason… as the scripture says. Honor the older generation and fear God. Let me put the correct emphasis on this verse…. Honor the elderly, AND FEAR GOD.
Meaning if you don’t honor the elderly… you are a fool and you are not honoring God. You are stupid, because if you feared God you would do just this!
A few years ago just before my Grandpa died… he was flown to the white house by President Obama as one of the last WW2 veterans alive, he was then honored by others and including a church I served at during that time… My heart glowed. I knew what he had been through… most never would.
Do you want to love God good… honor others!

Matthew 15:29 Jesus went from there and came to the Sea of Galilee. Then He went up the mountain and sat down. 30 Many people came to Him. They brought with them those who were not able to walk. They brought those who were not able to see. They brought those who were not able to hear or speak and many others. Then they put them at the feet of Jesus and He healed them. 31 All the people wondered. They saw how those who could not speak were now talking. They saw how those who could not walk were now walking. They saw how those who could not see were now seeing, and they gave thanks to the God of the Jews.
Insight into being used greatly by God.
WE like to look good to other Christians… We like to be used by God… We like to look like super Christians… We tend to admire those used by God, those who seem to have a supernatural mojo about them.
When was the last time you wanted to be used by God simply so others would glorify him God and not even remember you… you would vanish in their minds (and maybe really vanish) and the person or crowd just focus on God and glorify him.
This was a gentile heavy crowd, in fact it says and many of them glorified the God of the jews….
Christ motive was to reach the lost of the lost of the lost and in doing so give them a reason to worship God… a God they had no real understanding of.
Great lesson for us… if we just translate it to todays world.
YOU WANT TO SEE A MAJOR MOVE OF GOD? Here seems to be a recipe worth copying…
Go to the down and out.. the least of the least. People who are not like you, don’t know you and maybe even are at odds with you. (a.k.a. like the gentiles in Christ day)
Go to where they are in most desperate need and must have miracles… meaning your own talents won’t help them. - only God. Go where they do not know you, you will not be known by them nor is it an area you frequent. And go with the only motive to -MGLG…make God look good. Finally…. You might miss this part… go and pray and do the impossible without ever telling anyone about it. Jesus said again and again “I am here to do my Fathers will”…. He never postured or talked about all the people he healed… he wanted God to get the credit.
Yea, simple, doable, practical and needed. NOW GO DO IT.

MASCULINITY IS TOXIC
psychology professor at California State University, Herb Goldberg, tells the following story: “When I was 12 years old my father mocked me for crying one time. I consciously made a decision right then and there that I would never cry again. And I kept it, too, for years. When I finally realized crying is good, and that men need to cry too, I couldn’t do it anymore. Since then, I’ve been trying to learn to cry again, and it’s been very difficult. The same thing goes for other feelings. It’s very hard for me to let myself experience them most of the time” (The Other Side: “I Never Saw Clark Kent Cry”)…
My question is not wether you cry or not… its what did you learn and now practice from your father?
Was Jesus a plaid sweater vest, Sansa belt pants docker pants, and hushpuppy shoe wearing dude? NOPE! Jesus lost his cool and tore up the temple courts… not any court, but the temple courts… flipping tables with a whip…
He is the lion of the tribe of judah… a lion. He is coming back pissed off at the sinful, rebellious world, at satan and the anti Christ.
Jesus raged against the status quo. He was outspoken, bold, shameless, selfless, direct, compassionate, blunt, passionate, an equal opportunity employer and self-confident. He was committed to the point of death?
He was also deliberate, confident, soft, loving, strong, quiet and long suffering.
Being misunderstood for being a man in todays world is coming and is level 1
Being misunderstood for being a man Christian is common and level 2
But being misunderstood for being a true Follower of Christ and a True man is level 3… and it actually should be more like level 19…
We know Jesus lost his father at sometime… but he was around for most of his life. Jesus had many brothers and sisters and so he had to be around for most of his life. His Dad did something right to help prepare and set up Jesus… we can deduct a few things…
He taught Jesus how to work hard, how to get work done.
He taught Jesus to stand his ground and speak the truth
He taught Jesus to look out for the misunderstood and the low level of society.
He taught him to stand against hypocrisy and fallacy.
He taught him to stand against religiosity.
He taught him to love children, the lost - to love the avoided, the slutty, the disgusting the miscreants.
And at the same time never approve of their behavior and never water down the truth.
Now this can sound arrogant… but hold on and listen to where I am going… and by the way - to most people who really find things like this arrogant - its because they lack what I am talking about and they are envious and jealous… anyway… I have continually tried to figure out why I am so committed to Christ… what did I learn, what was I born with… what was the secret sauce. And yes, I have a very strong prayer life, a very strong devotion to Gods word and I am heavily involved in church and other ministries… but what was the defining factor to being a man who is totally committed to Jesus no matter what - and I truly mean no matter what. Marriage problems, health problems, money problems, kid problems….
The cause… the smoking gun if you will is simply this… a Father who was a mans man. He never stepped back in his devotion to Christ no matter what he faced or what he went through.
So today, read your bible, pray and daily ask God to make you a mans man….
Why is masculinity toxic… well it is in fact toxic to those who are on a steady diet of tolerance and social justice and don’t see Jesus for who he really was. So I make no apologies for you choking on my lifestyle, my words and my actions… one mans toxicity is another worlds hope. Change the world.

the process of knowing and gathering information. good to know.
How and why should you know your bible and apply it to life. If you want to be happy, successful, rich, powerful, healing, miracles… study it. Make it a lifestyle of study.
Some people complain… and then you ask them how much have you studied on that topic you are failing at? Your relationship with your spouse sucks… or your son, or you boss… how many books have you read on those topics? How many sons have you interviewed who have great relationships with their dads…. Look, you don’t study, you don’t learn… well - you don’t get the reward.
Why would people not study what they want to know and be.
If you have lack its not because you don’t know how to find out… but rather a lack of drive.
Scripture says if you seek you will find… the truth. but how many people truly search….
most are waiting for it to fall into their laps. Most don’t want to search or study… but what you find on the way is sometimes even more important than the goal you were after.
here is how to do this on steroids… once you start to study it and search it… practice it and journal how it is going in your life. looking back sometimes helps you learn more than what you first learned at that time.
Look you cant do all you find out, but at least do what you find out… put what you searched, what you studied, put it into action.
And finally understand that failing is the best way to learn… but to fail successfully you have to search successfully, you have to study successfully, you have to DO successfully… in order to learn and succeed successfully.
Are you studying? Are you searching? Are you doing? Are you failing? Are you learning? If not… who sold you on that lifestyle? Thats just stupid. Look we all know people we admire for many reasons… but almost always the ones we admire the most are the ones who made somthing out of their lives… not the ones who were born into it.
Finally understand that God said to whom much is given much is required…Luke 12:48
But there is an even more powerful insight… when Jesus hands out the talents to be invested in and worked… we understand that the servants had to search out opportunities and study how to invest and then acted… the servant who did not do this… NOT EVEN putting the money in the bank to earn the Master money was evil… lazy, didn’t study, didn’t learn and did not act…. how hard is it to put the money in the bank… but here is the real secret… the ones who did study, learn and act… they were rewarded not only with more responsibility but also with the talents that were given. to the wicked slave.
Study, learn, Do… fail or succeed but keep doing it and you will have an amazing adventure to tell others.

6. Disobeying the Government
As the West moves increasingly further away from biblical truth and biblical morality, laws will be put into place that will attempt to stop the church from obeying God as directed in Scripture.
In fact, this is already happening. In 2021, the state of Victoria in my home country Australia passed the “Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Bill” that makes praying for homosexuals and transgendered people so that they do not engage in homosexual behaviour or change/act like the opposite gender a criminal offense punishable of up to ten years in prison.[1] Even if a member of one’s church approaches and asks the pastor to pray for them because they are having homosexual thoughts is illegal!
7. Rejecting Critical Theory and Neo Marxism (‘Social Justice’ over Biblical Justice)
Critical Theory has infiltrated the West through various movements and groups, such as Critical Law, modern feminism (third-wave feminism), and Black Lives Matter.
Critical Theory teaches that all white, heterosexual, male, Christians are by nature oppressors, and nothing can free them from the sin of their oppression.
8. Upholding Biblical Marriage
Extreme detailed definition of marriage right down to the minutia = A man and a Woman who join together for a lifetime commitment in a covenant.
Biblical marriage and families are the bedrock of society. If the church does not uphold biblical marriage, then most relationships in the church will breakdown, causing harm and division within the church, resulting in the church stagnating and not fulfilling its purpose to bring believers to full maturity in Christ.
9. Valuing Children
Churches no longer encourage their married couples to have children.
Second, many married Christian couples in the West either do not want to have children at all (a reflection of Western culture) or only want to have one or two for selfish reasons.
Finally, many churches in the West put children out of the main church service and into Children/daycare Sunday school classes… and do not actually train their kids.

11. Preparing for Persecution
The last challenge the Western church faces is persecution. I believe that as Western culture continues to turn its back on the biblical faith and biblical values and becomes increasingly hostile to biblical Christianity that persecution will arise. It won’t just be the government (see point 6 above), but the populace will begin boycotting Christian business, companies will not want to hire Christians, companies will not want to do business with churches or Christians, Christians will be banned from social media sites, churches will be vandalized at a greater rate and to a greater degree, and Christians will be physically threatened and attacked.

3. Hiring or Empowering Qualified Pastors/Elders/Overseers
The list of qualifications for pastors/elders/overseers is lengthy! The two most prominent passages that list these qualifications are 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9. The qualifications concern two areas: character and teaching ability. First, for a man to be a qualified pastor/elder/overseer, he must be able to know and teach correct doctrine. Second, he must meet a lengthy list of character requirements.
Why are qualified pastors/elders/overseers harder and harder to find? Well, 90% of all men look at porn. 60% or more have vacillating and changing biblical doctrine and beliefs regarding family, sex, morality, AND THE MAJORITY OF PASTORS IN TODAYS WORLD “AS CHRISTIANS” HAD NOT KEPT THEIR VIRGINITY UNTIL MARRIAGE… The crop from which to choose from is dismal and in face shrinking yearly.
4. Discipling Church Members
The fourth challenge for the church is discipling its people.
For many church members, the most discipleship they receive is the Sunday morning sermon.
Most Christians are discipled more by western society than the Bible.
When was the last time you heard a conversation where someone said “Well the Bible says….?
Churches lack solid bible study… by that I mean they actually study the Bible.. and not a bible study book or DVD or video or YT channel or a social media post… but they pick up their bibles and they understand how to parse, compare and study the scriptures.
One problem is that people don’t know the tools to use, or have access to them…
BTW the internet is a poor choice for a tool when it comes to true Bible study.
5. Adopting and Defending Sexual Purity
A mountainous challenge for the church in the West is sexual purity. Sexual purity refers to God-sanctioned sexual conduct, which is sexual conduct only within a marriage between one man and one woman. All other sexual activity and conduct is considered sexual immorality Failure to preach and teach sexual ethics according to the Bible
- Sexual conduct outside of marriage
- Adultery
- Homosexuality
- Divorce
- Social media appetite
- Predatorial behaviour/abuse (seduction, manipulation, rape)
- Paedophilia
- Intentional failing to report criminal sexual misconduct
- Intentional Coverups of sexual abuse
- Intentional hiring of sexual miscreants
- Selfish or poor sexual practices in marriage
- White wash sex sins outside of marriage from an abuse of “love”

WHATS NEXT?
So whats next… for our world? Our Family, our church?
**There are going to be more and more churches that build amazing ministries… Worship, drama, video, life application messages, social services, youth and young adult ministries… AND THEY WILL GROW… but they will not have the power of God - they will attract the world and be worldly and religious - well intentioned… but far from God.
What is the climate of Christianity in the USA?
1. More churches are in significant decline.
2. Aging leaders and aging congregations.
3. Increasing resistance to change - good and bad. Worship styles, deliverance ministry, theology
4. Navigating changing worship experiences -
5. Exhausted pastors - ministry is harder than it has ever been. To stay anointed, in his presence, time demands, to lead in spite of what the world wants, in spite of what the church wants…
What are the Problems of the Church in USA
- Lack of emphasis on evangelism and outreach.
*If we had a month of services where I said you cannot come to church unless you bring a non-Christian… would it
- Offend you
- Challenge you
- Cause you to not come that month
- Depress you
- Excite you about our emphasis on outreach and growth
- Cause you to go to another church
1. Affirming the Sufficiency and Authority of Scripture
By ‘sufficiency of Scripture,’ I mean that the Bible has everything necessary for faith (doctrine) and practice (how to live one’s life in a way that pleases God). By ‘authority of Scripture,’ I mean that the Bible has authority over what Christians and the church believe and how they organize and conduct their lives.
2. Consistent Prayer
It will not be a surprise to many that prayer in churches is dwindling at a rapid rate. Whereas many churches used to host prayer meetings on Sunday and Wednesday evenings, now many churches do not host any type of consistent prayer meeting. The bottom line is that churches are not praying as much as they used to pray.
We are told by Jesus to pester God with our petitions and he will give us justice (Luke 18:1–8),

- A covenant is identity - Two lives become one:
In covenant you become identified with the other individual and there is a supernatural commingling of two lives.
Covenants have blood spilled. It is not just an oath, but an oath built on spilt blood. The woman’s body has a Hyman which has no specific purpose or biological purpose other than when she has her first sexual experience it tears and blood is shed. The curtain that separated the holy of holies had no real purpose… in itself it was not holy… but when Christ blood was spilled the curtain tore open to let the whole world know there is a new covenant.
SEX IS YOUR IDENTITY - VIRGINITY IS THE OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE YOUR IDENTITY WITH YOUR HUSBAND IN A COVENANT.
- - A Covenant has a Hierarchy - A line of command… WHY? he created a chain of command in order to hold the man responsible.
1 Cor. 11:3
This has nothing to do with quality of being or importance, but rather responsibility.
A woman has to respect, submit and obey her husband as long as he himself is obeying and submitting to God. Otherwise the hierarchy is broke and you don’t get to tell her what to do.
If a United States Colonel goes rogue the private under him does not have to obey him.
FINALLY
We get married - LIVE A COVENANT
in order to practice Gods love and likeness. You say I am in a horrible marriage…
Could Jesus live in that marriage? Yes, he could. So the real question is “how much do you have to be like Jesus” to live in that marriage… because that is the point of our walk with Christ… to be more like him!
The Mystery of Marriage EPH. 5: 32This mystery is profound, but I am speaking about Christ and the church.
How do we love each other the way Christ loved the church? Only through the power of the God.
You can’t build a strong nation, country on marriages based on feelings. But you can on a country based on covenants.
We live in a world where we can be Christians but still not honor Gods command “no sex before marriage”. And because of that… we get married on a weakened “feelings” based foundation. Thus… breaking a marriage covenant is easy because it was based on feelings to begin with.

WHEN SATAN WEAKENS YOUR MARRIAGE HE WEAKENS YOUR ABILITY TO RULE AND REIGN
But these three purposes are to be
lived out in a covenant.
The unseen benefits of a covenant
- When you understand what a covenant is, you make a more serious choice regarding if YOU want to get married and WHO you will marry. You don’t want to marry someone who does not marry on a covenant understanding.
- Covenants are hard… they are meant to be hard.
There are no shortcuts.
1864 The Donner party with 80 plus people all from one family we’re going to travel from Illinois to California where life would be better. Half way through the journey they met an old explorer Lansford Hastings… cut up north thru Utah…it will save you lotts time. Just the opposite, first they hit deserts… no water for days, then mountains with snow peaks and drifts 15-20 ft. high. They tried to camp out and survive but the party started to die off quickly… and the only way the last few could survive was through cannibalism. **You can take other peoples advice about your marriage… to “save time” - to “be Happy” - to “do whats fair” - to “live in the worlds standards”… but you will ultimately cannibalize your marriage and all other relationships.
DON’T GET TEMPTED BY SHORTCUTS… Anything outside of scripture is a shortcut.
Live your covenant according to scripture!
- Covenant - No feelings allowed
As Christ loved the church. Jesus did not want to die on the cross according to his feelings… but he chose to do so according to his love for humankind.
There is nothing that will pollute, and kill a marriage faster than one spouse living by their feelings.
…if its not best for me
… if its not easiest for me
… if it doesn’t feel good
… if it is hard…
I won’t do it - especially for my spouse.
Feelings killed the potential and the future of that marriage.
How many incredible MARRAIGES never happened…
How many wrecked roads of potential….
DUE TO FEELINGS.
- It is till Death… (to cut, spill blood) They are life or death
When a couple in Christ day got marriage they would cut up an animal in half and the bride and groom would walk in-between them on the way to the altar…signifying death if either of you break this covenant.
