Obsessed

4-18-19 Thursday
What are we talking on today? Here is a clue…
obsessed, possessed, driven dominated, crazed, Raving, frenzied, consumed, all in, 100 percent, all out, brazened, Persistent, captivated, unconditional, absolute…
To the man who took a shirt at my table at the last mens conference and said he would pay me and has not… tsk tsk
You are not a giant slayer, you my friend are a giant player.
A poser!
Why do we not live all out for all that God has for us?
Too many of us are not living for God because we are living our fears.
Fears/Feelings
What is a key to overcoming fear?
Obsession!
Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Nothing! talent will not, nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent, genius will not, un-rewarded Genius is almost a proverb. Education will not, the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent the key to success has always been and will always be press on. Calvin Coolidge.
Call it persistence call it obsession… just understand you need it!
Philippians 3:13
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,
Taken hold of it: Hold of what? All that Jesus died and gave us access to. Healing, life, wisdom, mercy, kindness, miracles, prosperity, Obedience, signs and wonders, Hope
The one thing: The one thing I am all in on… no holds barred, 100% focused.
STRAINING FORWARD…
This is used only in Phil 3:13. It refers to the believer straining forward to reach "the full-impact resurrection" out from the realm of death given to them at Christ's return.
Runner's World (8/91) told the story of Beth Anne
DeCiantis's attempt to qualify for the 1992 Olympic Trials marathon. A female runner must complete the 26-mile, 385-yard race in less than two hours, forty-five minutes to compete at the Olympic Trials.
Beth started strong but began having trouble around mile 23. She reached the final straight away at 2:43, with just two minutes left to qualify.
Two hundred yards from the finish, she stumbled and fell. Dazed, she stayed down for twenty seconds. The crowd yelled, "Get up!" The clock
was ticking--2:44, less than a minute to go.
Beth Anne staggered to her feet and began walking. five yards short of the finish, with ten seconds to go, she fell again. She began to crawl, the crowd cheering her on, and crossed the finish line on her hands and knees. Her time? Two hours, 44 minutes, 57 seconds.
Hebrews 12:1 reminds us to run our race with perseverance and never give up
Paul is saying “I am obsessed with getting everything that Jesus and his word says are mine”!
“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”
George Bernard Shaw

Todays intro is a complete honest diatribe about myself and how I chose to do what is right rather then let my pride get the best of me… and why you ask? Because if Mama ain’t happy ain’t nobody happy!
Posted new videos on our TDA youtube channel!
Quick lesson:
Yesterdays post… Mama didn’t like it… on my home page. So I took it down.
Choose your battles wisely. What is worth truly fighting for? Only those things that are truly black and white in scripture. If it is a matter of taste, then
Favorite scene Lethal Weapon, when Riggs is on the building trying to talk to a guy who wants to jump off the top of it.

HE CALLS HIS BLUFF!
THIS SCRIPTURE TODAY CALLS OUR BLUFF!
YOU WANNA BE A MAN OF GOD, DO YA? DO YA REALLY?
If you really want to - then read this psalm daily… in fact 3-5 times a day. And read it as a prayer to the Lord.
Some call this the Godly Home blue print.
Psalm 101
A psalm of David.
1
I will sing of your love and justice, Lord.
I will praise you with songs.
*Be careful what you put in your ears… it will fall out of your mouth and hands- actions.
What is the story you are telling yourself by what you listen to?
I will be careful to live a blameless life—
when will you come to help me?
I will lead a life of integrity
in my own home.
If your home a home of integrity? = sound and intact according to Gods law.
Without cracks. Are there cracks in your marriage, your relationships with your kids, cracks in your computer viewing, cracks in your check card, cracks in your texting?
I will refuse to look at
anything vile and vulgar.
*If it does not profit my walk with God I will not look at it.
I hate all who deal crookedly;
I will have nothing to do with them.
How quickly does it take to have the wrong person in your midst say and do the wrong thing that crosses boundaries to your walk with God… seconds. So cut them out!
4
I will reject perverse ideas
and stay away from every evil.
5
I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors.
I will not endure conceit and pride.
If a person does not make your more like Christ you really have to ask yourself… is this relationship worth it?
Would you want your kids to hang around someone who will slander them? Treat them with arrogance and conceit?
NO! So don’t let yourself hang with them either!
6
I will search for faithful people
to be my companions.
Only those who are above reproach
will be allowed to serve me.
7
I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house,
and liars will not stay in my presence.
8
My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked
and free the city of the Lord from their grip.
Is your life committed to freeing those under satans lies and lifestyle?
How do we do this?
First personal inventory. Get rid of anything that is keeping you from being all that God has for you.
Second, get around other men who love Jesus and will help push you and keep you accountable.
Third. Get a group of guys together on a weekly basis and go out and serve God together. Go buy coffee and pray for people, go to the park and share Christ with some young men playing basket ball. Go clean bathrooms at a gas station and share Jesus with the workers. Drive around to find people who need prayer for healing… But put your time and energy into serving God and watch your faith grow.
Finally, get ready for setbacks when you finally draw a line in the sand and take a stand for God personally and publicly.

The Pussification of men

Joe Bezotte our very own Bad to the bone Bro!
We have a problem in America and it has crawled into the church…
The pussification of men!
Womens lib
Political correctness
No father figures
We think it’s wrong to be violent or go to war
Our diets suck
We don’t play anymore – we Xbox
The patronization of men in the media (we are buffoons, stupid, childish, the woman is always right, we are whiners)
We have been duped into delaying career, marriage, children… we live at home and play games and eat junk food and work at a dead end job
Our testosterone is at an all time low
Our passion for God is at an all time low
Our belief that we can make a difference is at an all time low
What happened to men?
Jordan Peterson in his book 12 Rules for life says “why would a woman want a guy in todays world… when he can’t bring anything to the table that she herself can’t already do herself”. Yikes!
There are many reasons… but mostly because of our fathers and our grandfathers not being there and or not setting an example of who God is.
But let’s let the Apostle Paul speak into our lives as a father figure today. he writes…
Take your share of[or, Share in] suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier on service gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to satisfy the one who enlisted him. An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. (2 Timothy 2:3-6 RSV
3 of the toughest occupations to express what our Christian walk is like.
We are called to fight…
Coincidentally in
October, Britain's worst professional boxer, Peter Buckley,
announced he will retire after his next bout. He has lost 88 in a
row, and, overall, his record is 43-256.
Why Keep losing? He responded it’s not about losing and its not about winning… its about fighting – God made me a fighter!
*you are a man of God, that means you are a fighter. You will not back down sharing the love of God and his gospel regardless of what the world says!
- There is a very sweet woman at the gym, she is Jehovas witness… I lovingly tell her that only a faith in Jesus Christ can save you. Her bible has been tampered with by man and she needs to know the truth in order to know Christ personally and enter heaven.
- it’s in love, but it aint easy, and it feels very uncomfortable!
But that’s my job, I am a fighter.
As an athlete we understand we do a whole lot of practicing and working out for maybe just one play that will make the difference. The olympics are years of work for just a few seconds win or lose!
We as men train in the scriptures, read and pray and obey and we subject our bodies and minds to Christ and his spirit… and maybe just for a few minutes of Victory. But that is what we do!
Farmers use God’s seasons and plant their seed completely trusting in God. He brings the weather, the sun, rain, the bugs etc…
A farmer can’t curse the seasons, it’s all he has to work with. He trust God to bring fruit regardless.
We as men of God don’t get to choose our season, our weather, our challenges… but we trust God to bring fruit in our lives regardless as we plant his seed in our hearts and lives.
Paul says to do that requires the dedication of a soldier, the discipline of an athlete, and the diligence of a farmer.

When our emotions control our behavior… what’s the pay off.
Does nagging work?
Does blaming work?
Does making excuses work?
When you feed negative emotions it only makes it worse…
AND - IT DOENS’T HELP THE SITUATION.
Blaming someone doesn’t solve any problems…
Nagging may get something done but at the expense of the relationship
Making excuses only puts you farther behind
The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:2, “From now on, then, you must live the rest of your earthly lives controlled by God’s will and not by human desires” (GNT).
First understand that God has emotions… he understands what you are going through.
He feels pain, joy, frustration, etc…
But he also gave us the choice of how to use our emotions…
Robert Plutchik’s wheel of emotions
We have three choices…
Stuff them down and eat them… only to cause harm later
Overreact and live on a rollercoaster ride of emotions
OR
Use them as a teacher. Asking God what do you want to teach me through each emotion.
Lets say emotion is fire…
Stuffing emotions down is like stamping out any fire or flame
Lighting everything on fire is the overreaction and rollercoaster
Asking God how do you want me to use this fire?
You can heat a house, put it in a fireplace and enjoy it with your loved ones, you could cook a meal, you could blow glass or make candles… it is endless.
So you get angry at your boss or your spouse (thats your fire) what do you do? Stuff it, overreact or…You ask God how can I use this.
He may ask you to talk to your boss, or show you things inside of you that need to change (your getting mad because your ego is a little to big and you think you deserve special treatment) Or he may ask you to take on a new project or job at work. The list is endless… but use it to learn from.
This is what the scripture means by “being controlled by Gods will and not human desires”.
You are saying “God this is my emotion… how do you want to deal with it within your perfect will”.

4 Fear Factors

4-9-19 4 fear factors that fight faith
Fighting for something that is not worth the effort.
tdagiantslayer@gmail.com
Sometimes we fight over our excuses to not have any faith. Here are 4 excuses we use to honor fear over faith.
Looks - The red Sea
Ever see a woman from the back… and its a guy?
one time I was told to go into the woman restroom because someone saw a guy go in there (it was my sister)
Looks are deceiving.
Slavery
Plagues and now…
Exodus 14: Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 “Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp near Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. They are to encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal Zephon. 3 Pharaoh will think, ‘The Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the desert.
4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” So the Israelites did this.
Logic - Catch a fish
Matthew 17:27 "But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”
When you look at the stories of the bible, you have to hand it to God… he does not go in a linear manner. For someone who has all power and authority he still seems to go the long way… there seems to be no logic to it.
What does logic say in this situation: You need money for taxes so get a job, or sell something.
Jesus says go fishing… Peter was used to fishing for mass amounts of fish… so just one fish didn’t even make sense to Peter.
Understand all the thinking and planning that Peter would have had to put into this if he had followed logic. Jesus says don’t follow logic- that’s the hard and detailed way. Just do what I say.
Likes/feelings - Safety
Prov. 28:26
Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.
Love - Abraham sacrifice Issac
Abe leaves the God he knew, Leaves his family, leaves his home land, Gets to old to have kids, told he will be a great nation etc… the build up- then he has the kid! YES!!! and now you want me to kill him?
Gen.22 15 The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time 16 and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18 and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed,[c] because you have obeyed me.”
Looks logic likes and love = stay focused on Gods word and not on these. Trust him!

Burnt popcorn and bitterness
Thursday Apr 11, 2019
Thursday Apr 11, 2019
4-11-19
Bitter men are like burned popcorn….
You smell it in everything.
Luke Merrill never settle podcast
If you are bitter, everything is bitter to you. Women are only wanting a meal ticket, my kids only want me for my money or my car or for college tuition. My ex-wife has poisoned my daughter against me. Every boss expects me to do his dirty work, and I never get the respect I deserve.
Acts 8:23 for I can see that you are full of bitter jealousy and are held captive by sin.”
hurt, left un-dealt with turns into pain… left un-dealt with(unforgiven) turns into resentment turns into bitterness turns into a toxic mindset.
But here is the biggest danger = It turns into a life of BLAME!
You can never grow if you do not take responsibility with your choices and outcomes. So when you blame others you never have to pony up and change… it is always the other persons problem.
Prolonged it can make you:
Anxious
Vengeful
Depressed
isolated
Distrust
Cynicism
Kill your self esteem
Harm your health physically
What is the key… it’s always forgiveness.
You say I can’t… that’s cool and I accept that.
2 things… first
hurt, left un-dealt with turns into pain… left un-dealt with(unforgiven) turns into resentment turns into bitterness turns into a toxic mindset.
Catch this from the beginning.
Secondly…
So you do and say what jesus said “Father forgive them for they know not what they do”.
He did not forgive them… he asked the father to forgive them.

What's your BS!
Wednesday Apr 10, 2019
Wednesday Apr 10, 2019
4-10-19 Wednesday
No more BS (belief system)
New email: TDAgiantslayer@gmail.com
Working on our TDA conference… just inked a band that is coming… BOOM! Can’t wait to tell you about them… They are not Christian… But they are Song of the Year at the 2018 Independent Music Awards.
And had #3 on the iTunes blues charts
Pat Benetar and the anniversary! There was no way I was thinking Pat Benatar was outside my window.
BS… Belief System.
What are the things in your life that you think are impossible for you?
- Raise someone from the dead
- Speak in tongues
- Boldly share Jesus
- Lead someone to Christ
- Tithe 50% of your income
- Memorize huge portions of scripture
- Preach a sermon and give an altar call
- Heal the sick
- Stop sinning in that one area
- Never lust again
- Get into shape
- Lead young men into adulthood
Gideon
Hiding while thrashing wheat.
And angel calls him mighty warrior (starting to challenge his BS)
He is told to destroy the altar of Baal… and he does it at night (yea real ballsy)
Towns people are ticked and Gideon’s dad has to save him
Gideon then tests God with the fleece dry vs Wet and Wet vs. dry.
(again testing Gods BS vs. his own)
He gathers an army of thousands… but God says to many… changing Gideons BS even more.
Gideon hears a dream from the midianite camp… that the Midianites believe they will lose.
Gideons battle plan (from God) is to
Judges 7: 14 His friend responded, “This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hands.”
Judges 8 his BS has completely changed. He is now a verified God fearing, BA who goes on a tear fighting anyone and everyone and has the respect and fear of all in the nation.
They ask Gideon to be their ruler- he says no…
His belief system did not make him arrogant.
God is willing and wanting to change our BS. Ask him… do not run from him. Ask him to show you signs of how to change. Push in and lead others in your example and see what God does.

Little things are vital

Can you break a piece of tape wrapped around your wrists?
Just on android alone we have 500 subscribers in the USA
15 in Canada eh?
5 in the UK
4 in Australia
1 in Russia
Always be on guard… funny but true.
I walked into a super america yesterday to get a protein drink.
It’s the little things…
One piece of tape, easy… 5 maybe more difficult, 20 probably not….
Water is incredibly powerful. It can carve out a canyon, crush a huge mountain, build a wall etc… it just takes time. It’s the little things that make the biggest difference!
And its especially true in relationships!
It’s the little things that make relationships bloom! Flowers and a note for your wife, little notes to your kids. Going the extra mile by buying a few people coffee at work, picking up flowers for your wife, getting your daughter tickets to the concert, Skipping school with your kids and going skiing,
Turning off the TV and coloring with your young ones
Going out and shoveling the neighbors driveway
picking up a gift card for your wife at her favorite store
Getting your son a pack of protein bars
Texting your wife and kids about how much you love them or a great memory.
Galatians 6:7-9 King James Version (KJV)
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
You reap what you sow… Now imagine what this means?
THIS ISN’T SPEAKING OF ONE BIG ACT… though that’s fair.
THIS ISN’T SPEAKING OF ONE SEED!
You sow thousands of seeds in a field. you better have sowed mostly seeds of goodness, and righteousness and not seeds of selfishness!
John Wooden the greatest basketball coach ever in some peoples opinion said “it’s the little things that are vital”. He took Kareem Abdul Jabarr and spent countless hours just on his foot work. Where to place his feet, how to turn his feet, how to step out and in on a play etc… hours!!!!
BUT BEYOND THAT… The first thing he would do with his players every year was tell them to take off their shoes and socks. He would then tell them how to put on their shoes and socks!!! He said the right way insured less blisters, better fitting tennis shoes, longer play etc…
But it was the little things that made him great!
Some of you are looking for the grand slam of change in your relationships, marriage, kids, work, church, spiritual life etc… it is not a grand slam… it is a small daily detail!
Today look for the small things to change, to do, to invest your time and energy into.
Todays challenge: imagine 5 seeds in your pocket today. You get to invest them into peoples lives. How do you want to do it? who do you want to do it to? and what do you want to get out of it… remember seeds are not only to be planted, but also to be reaped!

Your house is on fire, you are the only one in it… You can only exit with one thing… what do you take?
Men’s conference: Love speaks Carl Wesley Anderson (Nikolai)
Pastor Roger Thompson at Berean
Jeff Deyo
Guys thanks for stopping by the booth
and I am hyped for our TDA conference in October in Chicago!
What’s the number one thing in life in order for you to make an impact? Your body! The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. You want the Holy Spirit to be around for a long time doing Gods work through you? Then take care of the body.
1 Cor. 6:19, 20
19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
How can I best use my body to honor God?
The very first thing…. Take care of your body.
Your body is the venue/ the tool by which you display God.
You have to understand that you are a man of influence and the longer you are on the earth the longer you can influence people. The healthier you are the better you can influence others.
Physical exercise and mental exercise is the key to a longer lasting impact and influence on your family, church and world. The Holy Spirit is the power of the influence, but the body and mind are the vehicle.
The beautiful leather glove… you are the glove. You need to stay supple, clean, dry etc…
But the hand in the glove is the Holy Spirit.
Romans 10:14How then can they call on the One in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? 15And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
Guess what’s in this verse? Exercise!
Are you too fatigued to influence?
Are you to fatigued physically? Mentally? Emotionally?
Influence can be powerful… overwhelming, sometimes immediate
But the greatest influence and the most long lasting influence is subtle… over time, little by little,
I had a conversation a while back with a friend. I was telling him how I have become my father as I have gotten older. I say the same things, I write the same way, I have the same idiosyncrasies (I pray in church and pick up trash, I make notes while praying, I rub my eyes and face when I get tired, I wear black dress socks with gray cut off sweats, have 5 coffee cups in my car…
My friend very sincerely and with watery eyes said “I wish I had a Dad that influenced me….
He had lost his father of a heart attack at a very early age. He was not around to influence.
I want to influence the world
My church
my friends
my family
my kids
my grandkids
and hopefully my great grandkids…
But I have to take care of my temple in order to do that.

Fear Not 365
Friday Apr 05, 2019
Friday Apr 05, 2019
4-5-19 Friday
What’s your greatest fear?
Mine is having an article written about me by someone from bleacher report… Did you read that Aaron Rodgers article? Yikes.
-365 times in the Bible it says do not be afraid. That’s one for every day!
Fear kills more people than death. Death kills you once, fear kills you hundreds of times.
Every day we have lines of fear to cross… if we do not cross them our life abundantly shrinks… to where some of us get up and feel like we are living in a very tiny small corner in the world.
The more you step into fear, and take action the greater your Life abundance grows.
The bible talks about 2 fears: healthy and unhealthy.
Healthy fear adds to your life: Fear the Lord, don’t play in the traffic etc..
Unhealthy fear is a fear that keeps you from experiencing all that God has for you.
Scriptures cure to overcoming fear:
1. I will keep my mind on Christ
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee (Isaiah 26:3).
2. The Lord will give me strength
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).
3. God will not fail me
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the only one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
4. God is my salvation
Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for the LORD God is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation (Isaiah 12:2).
5. God is on my side
The LORD is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me? (Psalm 118:6).
God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
