- This hurts me more than it hurts you.

- I just need five minutes of your time.

- Your table will be ready in a few minutes.

- Open wide, it won't hurt a bit.

A woman who says she bought magic wands from a self-described psychic to erase negative thoughts says $5,400 of her money was all that disappeared.
Joann Zansky, 57, said she paid a woman who claims to be a psychic $1,800 for each of three wands.
"She was a terrific actress," Zansky said. "I believed her."
Zansky said she contacted Bethlehem police after she became suspicious about the effectiveness of the wands.
"We're investigating," police Lt. Robert Righi said. "Possibly it is some violation of consumer fraud."
No charges have been filed against the woman named in the complaint. A person who answered the phone at the woman's business said she was unavailable.

Hey Would you go to a store that says our employees tell the truth 80% of the time!

Would you want to live in a town where the police told the truth 50% of the time?

Would you want a Doctor who told the truth 40% of the time?

Would you want a teacher who graded truthfully 70% of the time?

How many of you would fly on an airline that’s Mechanics motto was “we’ll tell you everything is fine even when it’s not, cuz you need piece of mind even when the engines aren’t so hot!

Would you want a WIFE that told the truth 99% of the time?

How important is the truth to you?

Here is the question: How many want to be lied to ?

Satan hates the truth! Why? Because

the truth shall set you free… and what can you do when you are free?

YOu can overcome, heal, flourish, live, serve unselfishly, believe, share the gospel, rescue and love unconditionally… Freedom to do whatever God has called you to do!

1. God’s word is truth

^{Ps 19:7} The law of the LORD is perfect,

reviving the soul.

The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy,

making wise the simple.

^{Ps 19:8} The precepts of the LORD are right,

giving joy to the heart.

The commands of the LORD are radiant,

giving light to the eyes.

^{Ps 19:9} The fear of the LORD is pure,

enduring forever.

The ordinances of the LORD are sure

and altogether righteous.

^{Ps 19:10} They are more precious than gold,

than much pure gold;

they are sweeter than honey,

than honey from the comb.

Why is God’s word spoken about like this? Because it comes from him and ultimately his word is only a reflection of who he is.

If you live your life according to anything other then God’s word - your life’s moral compass is that of a twister board.

Truth is founded on unchanging principles… ultimately on God and his word!

President Lincoln used to give people this test:

How many legs would a sheep have if you counted his tail as a leg?

Most answer 5! Wrong, just because you call a sheep’s tail a leg doesn’t make it a leg! Truth is still truth.

Ever go to bed and wake up seeing someone or something in your room? You squint and panic and in the shadows you are sure there is a midget riding a bobcat with a whistle and a gun? You begin to panic, you think they must have been from the circus and now they are there to kill you… some wicked twisted plot… YOU FLIP ON THE LIGHT AND it’s your bathrobe hanging on your mini tv.

GODS WORD DESTROYS THE SHADOWS IN YOUR LIFE… THE FEAR IN YOUR LIFE. JUST SIMPLY READ IT AND BELIVE IT. HIS WORD IS A LAMP UNTO MY FEET!

If there is one saying I absolutely hate in todays popular vernacular its when people say “it is what it is”. NOOOOO

It is what you believe God to make it.

ABC’s of dreaming:

A – Know your abilities – your dream should match your gifts, talents and passions. If you are 5’5 and want to be the next slam dunk champion… probably not.

If you are a guy who weighs 300 plus pounds and wants to be a fitness model… uhmm

Joseph knew his God so he knew GOD’S DREAMS FOR HIM. If you only know your abilities but don’t know God you will fill your life with meaningless dreams. If your dream is not to advance God’s kingdom it will not fulfill you.

The danger is that you can have a dream but it may not be God’s dream for you.

God gives us all talents and gifts and we can use those anyway we choose – we typically don’t have to seek them out, we discover them out. HOWEVER TO FIND GOD’S DREAMS WE MUST SEEK HIM! KNOW HIM, LISTEN TO HIS HEART!

I wanted to be a professional water skier… but God ended that real quick. I could have been mad, upset and gone my own way! I had to search God’s dream for me…

Some of My dreams are currently to be independently rich so that I can be a pastor for free. To be the best speaker/PREACHER EVANGELIST in the world. To write books that change peoples lives. To heal the sick, blind to see, raise the dead, speak prophetically with intense accuracy - THESE ARE JUST A FEW OF MY DREAMS. I will need God to do all these things.

B- Know your lucky Breaks are coming. I get tired of people who say “oh they are so lucky”. Here is the truth, everyone is given a dream from God, some choose to work, pray and seek God 100% to achieve these. The harder you work, pray and seek the more breaks you get!

IT’S LIKE SAYING TO SOME ATHELETE – YOUR SO LUCKY. LUCKY?

Joseph did not have an easy life.

Despised by his brothers

Sold to slavery

Accused of rape

Sent to prison

Forgotten in prison

But in every situation he chose to continue to serve God- he never gave up his dream.

Some people may have looked at Josephs life and said wow he was lucky, he was always in the right place at the right time… but it was his faith in God that took him to each new level.

I KNOW I HAVE NOT ACHIEVED ALL MY DREAMS YET… IT ACTUALLY GET’S HARDER AS YOU GET OLDER TO HANG ONTO THEM… BUT IM NOT GIVING UP!

C – Know that it takes Courage.

*If you choose to stay on the path you will have to give some things up – it takes courage to do that.

*It takes courage to look at your circumstances and still believe in it. To look at a lack of money, time, education, age etc… and still believe in your dream.

*It takes courage to prioritize your life to meet that dream.

How to get and keep your dream!

First and foremost seek God to give life to your dream!

Believe in your ability to succeed. You cannot perform in a manner inconsistent from which you see yourself.
2. Get rid of your pride. People who are full of themselves usually don’t have much room left over for a life-changing dream. Pride puts the focus on appearance rather than potential, and it prevents you from taking risks.
3. Cultivate constructive discontent. Discontent is a driving force that makes people search for their dreams. Complacency never brings success and only constructive discontent will motivate you to find your purpose and grow to reach your potential.

Rely on the Spirit of God to show you steps to take that are led by him and not by man.

Good Dreams – I was given a corvette and a friend of mine and I were restoring it.

Why does satan hate that you have dreams?

It means you have a future and it reminds him of his
it means you will have to rely on God more –he hates this- you will have to tap a potential that is beyond you.
You will not chase after what the world wants

Gen 37:3 Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons because he was the child of his old age. And he made him an elaborately embroidered coat.

Gen 37:4 When his brothers realized that their father loved him more than them, they grew to hate him--they wouldn't even speak to him.

Gen 37:5 Joseph had a dream. When he told it to his brothers, they hated him even more.

Gen 37:6 He said, "Listen to this dream I had.

Gen 37:7 We were all out in the field gathering bundles of wheat. All of a sudden my bundle stood straight up and your bundles circled around it and bowed down to mine."

Gen 37:8 His brothers said, "So! You're going to rule us? You're going to boss us around?" And they hated him more than ever because of his dreams and the way he talked.

Gen 37:9 He had another dream and told this one also to his brothers: "I dreamed another dream--the sun and moon and eleven stars bowed down to me!"

Gen 37:10 When he told it to his father and brothers, his father reprimanded him: "What's with all this dreaming? Am I and your mother and your brothers all supposed to bow down to you?"

His Brothers nick named him the DREAMER! They meant this as a cut down God meant it as a statement of faith. WHAT DO PEOPLE CALL YOU?

Do you know a dreamer?

For the most part the world hates dreamers. They look down on them and consider them egocentric or uhhhm Dreamers!

Walt Disney - was fired by a newspaper editor for lack of ideas. Walt also went bankrupt several times before he built Disneyland.

Leo Tolstoy, author of War and Peace, flunked out of college. He was described as “both unable and unwilling to learn.”

Michael Jordan, perhaps the greatest basketball player of all time, did not make his high school basketball team his sophomore year.

Beethoven’s teacher called him hopeless as a composer.

Winston Churchill failed the sixth grade. He did not become Prime Minister until he was 62. His greatest contributions came when he was a “senior citizen.”

Henry Ford failed and went broke five times before he finally succeeded.

Steve jobs of Apple dreamed of every home having a computer.

Lettuce in a bag… stupid idea that now makes the man 100 million a year.

Michael Dell dropped out of college

Bill Gates dropped out of college

The world was changed by men and woman who had to little sleep, to little money, to little time, to little education, came from the wrong family – but they had a dream.

If you have a dream you are guaranteed a few things!

1. If you have a dream you have a journey ahead of you.

2. If you have a dream you have challenges before you.

Obedience Brings Illumination

John 14:21

²¹ Those who obey my commandments are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them, and I will love them. And I will reveal myself to each one of them.”

HOLD THE PHONE… DID YOU JUST HEAR THAT?

When I worked construction I followed a lot of orders. I did not always understand why… but as the building went up I realized the importance of following through on all the small details.

When you put something together you sometimes want to fudge on the directions, but usually it will come back to bight you on the butt.

The more you obey God the more you sense his Spirit and find it easier to know what, when and how to obey.

Obedience brings trust

1 Samuel 15:22

²² But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Obedience is far better than sacrifice. Listening to him is much better than offering the fat of rams. ²³ Rebellion is as bad as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you from being king.”

God could no longer trust King Saul to rule.

If you tell the truth/obey all the time I can trust you all the time.

If you tell the truth/obey only some of the time I can trust you only ______________

WRONG- I CAN NEVER TRUST YOU!

As you obey your parents you gain their trust and more responsibilities. The same holds true with God.

The number one sign of a disciple is OBEDIENCE. You can measure a persons depth of Discipleship by his depth of obedience. Not just obedience to "Christ", but to our spouse, boss, pastor and the Holy Spirit. Obedience goes beyond following the 10 commandments! It goes to the heart.... is your heart obedient? Does your heart seek completion in it's day knowing that it has obeyed God completely in every area of your life? Secondly I think that A love for God shown or "experience" through your love for others. Obedience calls us to love others. is there any mark of obedience in loving the "loveable"? NO, God says even the Heathen do that... we must love the unlovable! Trust is supposed to be in here - but you learn trust... so this comes later!

Obedience Brings Power

Phil. 2:5

MOVE THAT ROCK

There once was a man who wanted to do something for the Lord. He asked God, "What can I do for you?" God said, "See that rock? I want you to push against it." The man thought it was strange but he was obedient and began to push. Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. The man saw that the rock was going nowhere and so he stopped pushing. Soon God spoke to the man and asked him why he had stopped. The man told God why he was disappointed in the work that God had asked him to do. "Nothing is happening, the rock has stayed in the same place!" Then God said, " I can see a change. Your arms a more defined and your legs are bigger and stronger."

Sometimes God asks us to go things that seems meaningless and we can not see any outside change when we really need to see that what we are going is changing ourselves.

In the military who moves up in power? The obedient or the disobedient? Those who follow orders move up the ranks faster then those who don’t.

If you have heard me preach for very long you have heard me say this …

Rebellion is a false sense of Power. We live in a time where we reward disobedience, we publicize it and promote it in the media… it can slowly creep into our spiritual walk if we are not careful!

When we don’t obey God we feel powerless, so we disobey to feel a sense of power, but it is false, it is deadly. It is destructive.

However the more we obey God the more we sense his spirit and the more power we truly have.

I was in prayer once and I had a water bottle… God said when you pour that water out where does it go? I said down. He said why? I said gravity. He said nope. It travels in the path of least resistance. Want to be used more by God, obey do not resist. Ever wonder why God uses weird people? No resistance.

Three types of Obedience talked about in scripture:

Obedience to authority – parents, teachers, the law
His Holy Spirit – it leads us in matters that may not be written out
His word – if we do not obey his word it is stupid to think we will ever sense his Spirit

Two Myths concerning Obedience!

Myth number one- disobedience only affects you!

Isa 48:17 with this Message from GOD, your Redeemer, The Holy of Israel: "I am GOD, your God, who teaches you how to live right and well. I show you what to do, where to go.

Isa 48:18 If you had listened all along to what I told you, your life would have flowed full like a river, blessings rolling in like waves from the sea.

Isa 48:19 Children and grandchildren are like sand, your progeny like grains of sand. There would be no end of them, no danger of losing touch with me."

Ever have someone disobey and it affects you as well as them?

Your choice to disobey God will affect you, your friends, your family and your future.

Myth number 2- obedience always makes sense

Joh 21:5 Jesus spoke to them: "Good morning! Did you catch anything for breakfast?" They answered, "No."

Joh 21:6 He said, "Throw the net off the right side of the boat and see what happens." They did what he said. All of a sudden there were so many fish in it, they weren't strong enough to pull it in.

Jesus is trying to tell Professional fishermen how to fish… stupid! But they obeyed!

When God first began to speak to me in words of knowledge he gave me a weird test. I was at the gym and he told me to go up and ask a guy if his mom had cancer…

There will be times that following God may not make sense at first, but in time God always proves to be right.

When I was a kid there were many times my parents said “no” to things. I just learned to trust them and obey. Many times they saved my life.

Mark 12: The Most Important Commandment

28 One of the teachers of religious law was standing there listening to the debate. He realized that Jesus had answered well, so he asked, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”

29 Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ 31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

Sinclair Ferguson says, “God is never satisfied with anything less than the devotion of our whole life for the whole duration of our lives”

Two equal great commands… but shouldn’t Love God be more important?

This love your neighbor command does a few things:

First - It is a litmus test to see how much we actually love God.

WE KNOW WE LOVE HIM BY HOW WE LOVE OTHERS!

You can only love God to the degree of who you love the least… or hate the most.

Secondly - It proves how much we need Gods love in order to love those we don’t love. Right?

Jesus clarifies what type of Love.

30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.

Question: How much can you love someone you don’t really know?

You must know God in all these areas to love him in all these areas.

-1 You must know his heart/ your heart must be pure to love him

We know that we are born sinners. We cannot fully love God until we fully experience his forgiveness.

WE can’t have communion with him/intimacy with him, until our sin is forgiven.

- 2 You must know his soul/emotions

This is simply aligning who you are into a flow of loving God. Using your personality, gifting’s, talents for him allows you to Love him through your soul.

The seat of affections and will.

I have said it a million times: I know God loves me, but he really loves me when I am speaking.

Scripture tells us the Lord delights in his servant - serving him in your gifts!

- 3 You must know his mind/his word

The seat of intellect.

The more you know Him and his word, the more you know him and then the more you can love him.

- 4 You must know his strength/power

Not just power or strength, but the Drive behind the strength.

His strength and power is used for those he loves… it’s to show off to the world how much he loves us.

If someone has unlimited wealth and power… it doesn’t mean you love them… until they use it to save you, serve you, rescue you!

What is the number one worry in America?

Money? Health? Relationships? Nuclear war? Taxes?

NOPE.

The number one worry in the USA is appearance!

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6:25-27 NIV).

The best thing to do when you start to worry is pray.

Worry, on the other hand, has no redeeming power. In fact, it’s worthless. Here’s why:

Worry is a waste of time. It is irrational. Every moment you worry is a wasted second of your life: “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Matthew 6:27 NIV).

This is golden simply because of how practical it is. What a time saver - put your energy into something that will make a difference in your life- and worrying aint it.

Worry never produces results.

Look as men we all have a drive in us that wants to solve things. Our wife wants to tell us how she feels and we want to fix it… she gets mad- and yes we need to understand that part of our relationship. BUT WHAT THIS SPEAKS OF IS WE WANT RESULTS!

I don’t want to do something that will not produce results.

*ever work on a project only to have your company shelve it, or drop it, or after thousands of man hours say “ we really don’t need this”. ahhhhggggg…. You want results.

So why would you worry- it does not bring results.

Worry is Practical atheism. God has promised to take care of all your needs. When you doubt that, you actually become an unbeliever in that moment. Like that wave of the sea tossed back and forth in James 1:6

James 5:13-15

13 Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. 14 Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.

In this verse it says nothing about worrying. It says in all things pray.

What do we do?YOUR THOUGHTS CREATE FEELINGS...Feelings create emotions, emotions create states, states create moods, Moods create mindsets, mindsets create personalities. Your personality creates your life! *YOU MUST LEARN TO CONTROL YOUR FEELINGS TO CONTROL YOUR LIFE - You control your feelings by controlling your input… but the danger is we typically allow in what we feel, or what we feel we deserve, or what we have been programmed to feel! If you choose to live by your feelings you choose to live as a victim. (DR. Joe Dispenza)

This is what James 5 is saying- go directly to God in prayer and his word… stay free of worry and focus on who you are in God and who God is and what he said he would do!
