James 2:17 faith without action is dead… worthless.
We do not have enough because we allow mindsets to keep us from acting, earning. It is a mindset of lack (poverty mindset) that keeps us from putting action behind our faith. We can have faith for prosperity and blessing, but unless we deal with the attitudes that keep us from putting in the work we will have a worthless outcome.
I am not a person who thinks God wants everyone rich… first if you live in the USA you are rich compared to the rest of the world. And secondly I do believe God wants our needs met because he said so “that our needs would be met according to his riches and glory”.

But they all began making excuses. One said he had just bought a field and wanted to inspect it, so he asked to be excused.
Dr. Ken Cooper MD said one of the most profound things I have ever heard. He said, “The average body was built to last 120 years, but what we do to it, how we treat it, actually determines how long it will last.” Then he paused and looked into the eyes of the audience and said, “You see, it’s not so much we die as it is that we kill ourselves through the lifestyle choices we make.”
And why do we make those lifestyle choices???? Excuses. We choose what is easy.
So what are your excuses? You know them better than anyone else?
Be honest?
AGe?
Intellect? Money? Family? Health? Time?
The worlds was changed by men who had to little time, too little money, too little brains and too many excuses to worry about.
We all write our own story. Do you want your story to be filled with chapters of excuses? Half hearted victories that we put to much attention on because we know we could have done even more? Or do you want your book to have chapters like tried, failed, tried failed, tried succeeded, tried succeeded, tried failed, tried failed tried succeeded and the last chapter says finished the race well!

I would bet it’s who you were rooting for and what you were looking at. The line to the end zone or the foot, or the ball…. it’s your call.
Politics… is Trump a good president? Is Pelosi a bitter cry baby? Are all Republicans gun loving rednecks? Are all Democrats America haters?
The brain is built to construct meaning out of the voids to make sense of what is missing. And if left to just our carnal natural mind we can and will be fooled on many things, including spiritual matters.
I had a conversation in the gym yesterday with a woman… about their pastor (VERY VERY well known) and he is a firm believer that homosexuality is right and God is ok with it. When I asked her about it she said “well we choose to love everyone”.
It’s all about perception… so I don’t love them if I think homosexuality is wrong???
Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Good - upright and honorable before God
Pleasing - pleasing to God (not us but God)
Will of God - what God wills… are you choosing what God wills.

A couple thoughts to help you in your prayer time.
*There is a God who is all human… and so much more. What I mean is- he created us, he knows us and our human abilities and capabilities and potential. He created us in his image… but he is so much more than us… but he knows us.
- We tend to think of God as a being that can’t relate to us, which stands in the way of productive and powerful prayer. But the truth is he understands us better than we do because he created us.
*This means he created us to have a relationship with him.
Secondly - He is personal and intensely wants us to know him and his ways. If you have ever held your child or grandchild as a baby you can relate to that feeling of “I really want you to know how much I love you and care for you”. As the child grows they understand that more and more.

God speaks in through his bible.
Sometimes we overdo and overwork the notion that I have to hear Gods voice in my spirit or in my head… and yes that is a big part of the faith journey… however we can hear God speak to us at anytime just simply by reading his word. it is alive and active and sharper than any two edged sword… so read it as it was meant to be read- as Gods word speaking to us.
Finally God wants to speak to YOU.
If there was ever a more important theological issue to understand and believe it is this. GOD WANTS TO SPEAK TO YOU. That is why he created you, that is why he sent his son to die on the cross, that is why his son is now in heaven interceding for us. It is all about relationships.

11 Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

5 Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this story: “Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him, 6 ‘A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.’ 7 And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you.’ 8 But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence.[d]
9 “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
11 “You fathers—if your children ask[e] for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? 12 Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! 13 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”
Give you the Holy Spirit to those who ask. i.e. as you are asking (praying) he will give you the Holy Spirit to help guide you in how to pray. We don’t get to ask for anything we want and just get it to us if we ask enough… we ask and ask and seek and seek and knock and knock and over time our urgent honest prayers invite the HS and in and through that we get greater clarification to pray more along the lines of the Will of God and with his heart.
IF WE ASK FOR GOOD THINGS… how do we know what is truly good for us? Only through the infilling of the Holy Spirit and his leading and guidance.
Ever glad you did not marry that girl, get that job, move to that location, buy that car etc… What might seem good might be bad and unless you know the HS you may live duped through out your entire life.

The 2.9 GPA of Millionaires. They were not the smartest, they just had Grit, they were dependable, they kept at it, and that is the key! we many times give up too soon. But maybe the real problem is, we don’t know when to give up. We hang on to long… wasting time, money, people resources etc…
So what is it? Do we not hang on long enough? We do seem to have a generation of wimps… snowflakes…
But we also have a lot of people who seemingly are just to stupid to realize their dream is not gonna happen.
What to do?
The bible talks about both sides of the coin. It talks about persevering… it also talks about wisdom and knowing when to plant and where to plant etc.. so how do you know?
Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Note: Plans - Prosper… doesn’t mean that you may not give up and try something new, and it doesn’t mean you won’t continue to hang on and persevere… But it does say they will give you a hope and a future.
I love this: A hope to me speaks of the guy who gives up and says well lets hope this new thing works out… and boom it does.
* A future tells me that you are looking ahead and gutting it out and persevering until BOOM it works out.
SO HOW DO WE KNOW WHICH TO DO? This is what the relationship with Jesus is about. The Holy Spirit tells you and guides you if you should give in or give it one more shot!
Jesus told the disciples to throw their nets out again… persevere.
He also told them when you go into a town to preach the gospel, if they do not receive you to shake the dust off and keep moving. He did not say persevere… he said move on, change of plans.
Do you know Jesus enough to know wether to persevere or move on?
