I hope they make it to the hospital in time….
My first boy was born and it was traumatic. My wife had preeclampsia toxicity Raging blood pressure, my sons pulse was dropping and they had to just rip him out of her… truly - without exaggeration it was just like that. In fact they popped a hole in the back of my sons head.
So fast forward 2.5 years later… she is pregnant again and we go to the doctor in the 9th month and he is very concerned and says go immediately to the hospital and get induced… so I am panicking and I drive my wife like a MAD MAN… I am flying 100 mph down the beltline in Madison…
Garth where are you going… well it turned out one of the church secretary’s was a car I passed saw me and was not happy I was seeing so fast, but she found out the next day what was happening… and it made sense.
So I have tried to practice the same.
99% rule. about 99% of the time when you are upset you tend to distort thoughts and assume the worst possible reason for someones behavior.
When you calm down, you realize people were acting with ill intent only 0-2% of the time. You are more likely to guess right if you use goodwill or best intent.
you must allow your mind to calm and relax…
- The brain’s innate negativity bias continually scans for bad news and intentions.
- Seeing good intentions amidst bad behaviors can help you feel less affected—less stressed, irritated, or worried—by other people.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Meditate on These Things
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
