Thanksgiving

I am thankful for Jesus and his amazing love for me

 

I am thankful for my grandkids

They kiss me with peanut butter kisses

They race cars on my head

I am thankful they are quick to share, ready to laugh and always willing to hug

out of nowhere they tell me they love me right there in the grocery cart

They know they are adored and cherished

I am thankful they have loving parents that model Jesus

They love to wrestle… even my granddaughter 

Thankful for 10 fingers and 10 toes

For gibberish that I am sure is expressing her love for me

 

I am thankful for Jesus and his amazing love for me

 

I am thankful for my son Ryan and his wisdom in choosing the right wife.

Thankful you are harder working than just about anyone I know

Thankful you understands legacy and responsibility

Thankful you have passion in your life 

Thankful you stepped up to be the man of the house when I got cancer, and then cancer, and then a brain tumor… you were constant!

That you are quick to pray for those in need and hurt for those in despair

Thankful you love being a husband and a father even in the mix of diapers, vomit, money challenges and lack of sleep

Thankful you have found friends as loyal and connected as you

Thankful for your wit and the ability to make me laugh

Thankful you works and then works even more

Thankful you are blessed

Thankful you is generous and sacrificial to a fault

Thankful you did not marry that girl who looked like one of the flying monkeys in the wizard of Oz… oh my what would my grandchildren have looked like.

Thankful you love God with all your heart and you serve him daily.

Thankful you are always there for mom

Thankful you are best friends with your grandma and grandpa

 

I am thankful for Jesus and his amazing love for me

 

 

Thankful for my daughter in-law

She has humor and silliness that matches only mine.

her heart can pump 1 million gallons of empathy for someone she just met

she can smile in heartache and cry in joy

Thankful she puts kids first and the to do list last

Thankful she has a background of faith and a godly father and mother

Thankful she has a feisty heart that exemplifies Gods heart for the hurting

Thankful she would rather risk it in faith then fail in safety

She hears Gods voice and it moves her

Thankful she is becoming more and more like Jesus for the sake of her kids

 

I am thankful for Jesus and his amazing love for me

 

I am thankful for my son Reese

I am thankful that we did not allow sickness, disease and cancer to kill our love for each other

Thankful for your mom who played referee between us

Thankful for your art and music that always moves me

Thankful for a life that is always 100%

For your ability to see the absurd and laugh about it

For your loyalty to friends and sticking up for them

Thankful you step in when others run away

Thankful you have a heart for women, a heart to protect and nurture

Thankful that you and your sister in law can tease and mock like no ones business

Thankful you are a strong dedicated worker

Thankful that you are a world changer and act like it

Thankful you are living for Jesus

Thankful for the future you have and the potential given you

Extremely thankful you are not pressured or easily moved, you make your own decisions and are not swayed by opinions.

I am thankful for your love for me your father 

I am thankful for your care and tenderness with your mother

I am thankful you idolize your grandparents and smother them with love

The smell of her hair out of the shower

Her toes sticking out of the blankets

Feeling like she's lying inside of me as she lays next to me

Her wicked little half grin

When she would lie next to me in bed and rub my chest

She learned what my tastebuds liked-she would custom make food just for me

She could make a simple worn out deck look like a old English garden

Texting from the store about what cookies I wanted

I am thankful you let me touchy feely even though that is not you

Always wanting my opinion on all decorations inside and out

I am thankful I have never made my bed because of you

Your creativity in the kitchen 

Your ability to always find the best deal

Thankful you put being a mom first and not a career 

Thankful you have let me run after some pretty crazy dreams

Thankful you create a home and not just a house

Thankful you have dimples… oh dimples there also

Thankful you love jesus

Thankful you pulled me through 16 months of chemo, 18 surgeries and hundreds of doctor appointments
