BAM - watch them every Tuesday night on our Facebook page.
August Friday and Saturday 16th 17th End times conference at HillSpring Church sponsored by The David Alliance,
Commitment - set goals and structure their future and stick to it.
We as men are set up by God to
share Christ,
protect our families,
serve the church.
We do it best when we have trained ourselves in each of these.
This is the extent of your personal focus and reliability. To be high on the Commitment scale is to be able to effectively set goals and consistently achieve them, without getting distracted. A high Commitment level indicates that you’re good at establishing routines and habits that cultivate success.
To be low on the Commitment scale indicates that you may find it difficult to set and prioritize goals, or adapt routines or habits indicative of success. You might also be easily distracted by other people or competing priorities.
But wait theres more… we talk a lot about what to do and how to do… and even the why…
But what most of us need is a Motivation to do it.
What are your motivations in life? If you tell me your motivations I can tell you just how successful or unsuccessful you will be. Look I can’t tell you what your motivations should be… its a little different for each one of us… but we can agree that we all know that we will stand before God one day and give an account of our life… thats a pretty good motivator … but what else. Well let me share with you a few of my own personal motivations and maybe it will resonate with you or help you come up with your own.
My main motivation after pleasing God is leaving a legacy for my family. How will my wife, my boys and my grandkids see my life?
Another motivation is how do my parents see my life- they are still alive… what they think matters to me.
Third motivation is understanding that I as a human being have the potential to be great, do great things and live a great life… we all do- but am I doing it. And finally here is the one that hits the jugular…
If I were to die today would my wife remarry someone just like me? i.e. would she marry someone who has my big gut, my flabby face, who dresses sloppy like me, would she marry another man who does so poorly with finances and has no real retirement plan, would she marry a man who treats her the way I treat her…. Basically have you set the bar high so that she will have a hard time finding someone who can fill your shoes?
I honestly would say that most women over 40 would not choose a man who has the same body there current husband has. Does your wife want a fat husband? A poor husband? A loveless husband? NO - so make that your motivation.
Together, the Control and Commitment scales represent the Resilience part of the Mental Toughness definition. This makes sense because the ability to bounce back from setbacks requires a sense of knowing that you serve a God who is in control of your life and can make a change - and has given you control thru prayer and spiritual battles. It also requires focus and the ability to establish habits and targets that will get you back on track to your chosen path.
This combined with the right motives makes you unstoppable.
